Hidden Gem in St. Lawrence Gap, Barbados

Hey Love Bugs,

Can you picture yourself sipping on some delicious rum punch while overlooking the waves collapsing in the beautiful ocean? I can and that is exactly what I experienced while at the lovely South Gap Hotel in Barbados.

This intimate, boutique style hotel is a hidden gem in the South Gap area of the island. At less than $180 a night, this hotel is very affordable and less than 15 minutes from the airport. Surrounded by local restaurants and nightlife, the area is lively and easy to maneuver in.

I stayed in the Superior Studio with the Ocean View and I must say it was quite cozy. The suite was equipped with everything I needed during my stay including a kitchenette and fridge. With gorgeous blue and white decor and a magnificent view of the Caribbean Sea, I didn’t mind calling this home while in Barbados.

I woke up a little later than usual due to jet lag, so I made it down to the hotel’s restaurant just in time for brunch.

I had a veggie omelette loaded with peppers, mushrooms, onions, and tomatoes. In addition to my omelette, I had a side of breakfast potatoes and toast with strawberry jam.

I spent the entire day lounging between the pool and the smooth waves of the ocean. Not only was the scenery beautiful, the staff was very helpful as well and tended to my every need as I bathed in the sun.

If you know me, you know I am a sucker for good tunes and South Gap Hotel clearly knew they way to my heart. From Aaliyah to Next, they played some of the best R&B throwbacks I’ve ever heard as I relaxed and sipped on my rum punch.

The wanderlust in me did not feel bad at all for taking some time to myself before the Crop Over adventures began.

If you are ever in Barbados, I most definitely recommend South Gap Hotel. Whether you enjoy the view from your balcony or relax poolside, you will never want to leave.
