Top 6 Things To Do In Aruba
Hey Travel Lovers!
I am finally getting back into the groove after an amazing getaway in Aruba. Immediately after my month long solo adventure in Europe, I came home for 2 days just to pack a new suitcase, pick my mom up and begin our journey to Aruba.
Aruba is a special place and I feel that I have to share the magic with you all. Not only because I was invited to spend the majority of my time on Renaissance Private Island, but because Aruba is really one happy island. From the moment we stepped foot on the island, we were shown nothing but hospitality.
Check out the top 6 things you must do while on the beautiful island of Aruba.
Relax With Some Feathery Friends at Flamingo Beach
The Renaissance resort was a dream come true. The staff was friendly and made sure our time there was enjoyable. Split with a family side and an adult-only side, the private island was built to ensure that those with children can enjoy themselves without worrying about their children interacting with the flamingos. My mom found the family side to be more enjoyable being that it wasn’t crowded with people trying to get Instagram worthy pictures with their new feathery friends.
Access to the 40-acre tropical island is free when you book accommodations at any of the Renaissance properties. If you choose not to stay on the property, Renaissance also offers day passes to the Private Island for $100 per person. Passes go on sale every morning and are limited so be sure to get there early. Each ticket includes a free non-alcoholic beverage and lunch from the restaurant on the island. Renaissance also provides transportation to and from the island by water taxis, which leaves from Renaissances Marina Hotel lobby every 15 minutes.
2. Brunch at The Dutch Pancake House
Breakfast or brunch is a must in order to start my day off correctly so The Dutch Pancakehouse was a perfect match. Located in the Renaissance Marketplace, this award winning restaurant is known for their delicious Dutch Pancakes and Poffertjes (small silver dollar sized pancakes). You’re sure to leave with your tummies full, ready to take on the day.
3. Visit One of Aruba’s Many Beaches
Aruba is the home to many public beaches like Eagle Beach, Palm Beach, and Arashi Beach . We found ourselves beach hopping throughout the day in order to enjoy the different attractions each beach has to offer. For example, we sailed out of Moomba Beach for the Jolly Pirate Cruise and stopped between Eagle and Palm Beach to snack at Eduardo’s Beach Shack.
4. Grab a Fresh Pineapple Acai Bowl
Located in Palm Beach, Eduardo’s Beach Shack is known for their tasty smoothies and fruit bowls. This small, colorful shack sets the tone for positive vibes and promotes healthy eating. I had one of their delicious Acai Pineapple Bowls, full of fresh fruit and granola.
5. Catch the Sunset on the Jolly Pirate Cruise
The Jolly Pirate Sunset Cruise was one of the most memorable experiences my mom and I had while in Aruba. The vibe was unbeatable and we met so many people from all over the world. With unlimited drinks like Pirate’s Poison, Pina Colada and Rum Punch, good music and dancing, you’re sure to have the time of your life while watching the sunset.
6.Indulge in Fresh Seafood Cuisine
Insterested in dining with your toes in the sand? Well take a ride to Savaneta to find one of the best seafood restaurants in Aruba. The Flying Fishbone was one of the most romantic dinners I have ever experienced. Just picture Ocean Prime in the ocean! I’m a huge fan of seafood so of course I got the Seafood Pasta which was filled with scallops, shrimp, mussels, calamari, salmon and creamy alfredo. My mom ordered the Savaneta Seafood History which consisted of the same seafood mix with rice, vegetables and curry sauce.
If you have your eyes on eating here, be sure to make reservations in advance because they are usually booked.
If you build your itinerary based off these six things alone, you’re sure to have an amazing time while visiting the beautiful, happy island of Aruba.
