TIPS ON SPRING BREAKING IN CANCUN, MEXICO
Cancun, Mexico is one of the hottest Spring Break destinations to date. There prices are affordable, the food is delicious and there are a variety of activities to participate in.
From ATV riding to clubbing til sunrise; Cancun is easily the best destination to get the bang for your buck!
So, if you’re looking for a quick, affordable, last minute Spring Break getaway, Cancun might just be the place for you. I created a list of tips on how to make the most out of your Spring Break in Cancun.
ACTIVITIES
While in Mexico, bargaining will be your best friend. So be prepared to talk someone down if you feel their price is a little too high. Believe me, it works! All of the activities we participated in were under $50!
Booze Cruise
Enjoy delicious tropical cocktails while sailing the waters of the Caribbean Sea! With music, dancing and an open bar, this cruise allowed us to dance and have good time while taking in some sun. Our party boat stopped in Isla Mujeres for a few hours, where we were able to walk around, eat lunch and explore more of what Mexico had to offer.
Zipling/ ATV Riding
Get in tune with nature with Boca Del Puma, an ecological reserve that hosted our excursions. We zip-lined through the rainforest and rode through the muddy hills of the jungle. Our excursion also included access to a natural underground Cenote, where we were allowed to swim and enjoy the scenery in the cave.
Party at the Pool
Cancun is known for throwing the wildest pool/beach parties! You can not get the full Cancun experience without attending at least one! We had to throw on our cutest swimsuits and get us some Vitamin Sea!
Spa Day: Fish Pedicure/ Full Body Massage
On the last day, we decided to relax a bit to recover from our week long adventure. We visited Stones Hair & Spa, where we received a 60 minute Full Body Massage & 30 minute Fish Therapy Foot Massage! I was a little nervous about letting hundreds of tiny fish eat at my feet, like the Kardashians did in Greece; but it was definitely an experience to remember.
FOOD
Of course, seafood was my number one choice while in Cancun. The best restaurant I visited while in Cancun was Mocambo. Their “Fetuccini Mocambo,” a rich pasta filled with Caribbean Lobster meat and their special house sauce, was amazing and cooked to perfection!
Mocambo Seafood and Lobster House
Surfin Burrito
Caminero Tacos
Casa Tequila
NIGHT LIFE
With the relaxed drinking laws and open bar at majority of these spots, partying too hard can cause someone to make horrible decisions while in Cancun. Not everything that happens in Cancun stays in Cancun. So always remember to have fun, but most importantly, stay safe!
Senior Frogs (Free entry)
Fat Tuesday ($5 entry)
La Vaquita ($30 entry & open bar)
Dady'O ($30 entry & open bar)
Congo Bongo ($50 entry)
ACCOMMODATIONS
Hotel: Aloft Cancun
Our accommodations were a bit subpar, but I had little to no control over the choice of hotel being that I literally booked my flight the day before the trip. This hotel was included with a package the girls booked through a discounted travel company. I honestly expected more from an Aloft establishment however, although this is where I stayed I would not recommend this particular hotel to ANYONE. The service was horrible and the cleanliness was not up to par.
